A few things to remember...

If you find yourself debating whether you will be bring a make up artist to retouch your make up (or your hair) the whole day or just have a DIY retouch on yourself for a photo shoot so you could save on fees or add-ons, here are a few things to remember.

If  you are shooting some photos especially some outdoor photos, you may have to bring a kit containing the following:

Compact mirror
Blotting papers-to remove excess shine before anything else!
Pressed powder with powder puff or sponge-after removing excess shine
Lipstick or lip gloss with color
Hair comb
Facial tissue and small face towel- wipe off any perspiration from your face with a facial tissue but be sure to just pat areas on face (not swiping motions). Small towel for neck and back.

If you are extremely oily, make up does not guarantee it will last for hours. An airbrush application of make up will make it last but normally when you are under a cool environment or air-conditioning with moderate light set-up.Otherwise, you need to have yourself retouched a few times to remove shine. This is when the make up artist should always be present especially on your big day never mind that you have to spend extra...just a thought though...=) You will never have to worry about your shiny shimmering splendid face!

Bridal Make up Beauty Transformation

II'm back again! I'm sharing this video and photos with you!  These were taken on  my sister's wedding day! My sister and I had the greatest make up session in our lives! Imagine us, sisters who bonded on the last hours before she says "I do". We just laughed and cried!I will never forget this moment!  I chose not to do a neutral or earth-tone look as I was eyeing a look that's a little both dramatic and ethereal. I asked Jay, my trusted hairstylist and friend to do her beautiful braided hair. Products used: Temptu Airbrush Foundation and Blush   temptu.com Loose Powder Foundation to set:  shuuemura.com Eyebrow gel creme:  macprocosmetics Eyeshadow colors:  viseartparis.com Lipcolor:  stila.com #beautytransformation #bridalmakeup #hairandmakeup   Before (bare faced no make up except eyelash extensions)  After (straight from my phone camera)  And these are photos from the photographer , Ralph Alejandrino. Lo...

It's been a long time...

Oh my, it's been a long time since I have last posted something about work... and I think it has been a year already to be exact!  Anyway, I won't make any promises but I will really try my very best to post works more often and perhaps share more about what ladies often want to learn more. Even the men can join too.  And to share some more today, I almost gave up being a make up artist! Probably one of the reasons why is because, most people nowadays are becoming more and more of a critic and doesn't know what real art is. I had a lot of experiences, really bad ones, that I almost lost myself but I just prayed to God. Then, it happened...I still get blessings from Him. They just kept pouring in. I couldn't even believe it myself but I always thought God was the one who is telling me to slow down. To enjoy. To do my best.  Now, I'm grateful. This is me, still working and surviving....  after 13 years. Thank you God. I am grateful.

Korean Make up Segment

I was invited by TV Host and Philippine Star Columnist , Angel Rivero for a "Korean" make up segment on the show called "Wheels" a few weeks ago. We talked about how big of an influence Koreans have in us when it comes to beauty and fashion. In the show, I was able to introduce to them my favorite Korean brand , Avant-scène Make up Professional.  It was around 5-7minutes talk with a little bit of acting that we were able to discuss and do a demo of Korean's "no-make-up" make up look.  I will post the whole video here next time. The Philippine Star's Wheels airs every Tuesday nights at 7pm on One News Channel, Channel 8 on Cignal TV cable.  (Reruns are every Wednesdays 10am, Saturdays 2pm and 9pm and Sundays 3:30pm and 11:30pm)
